New to King’s Lynn in November 1995 was a follow up batch of Mercedes Benz 0609’s body conversions by Frank Guy. These were delivered in the traditional Eastern Counties Cream/Red/Orange livery and worked the local town network in King’s Lynn. After a few years 619 amongst others were chosen to be painted in to the simple Anglia yellow & red livery prior to being withdrawn by Dennis Darts which came from Centrewest in the mid 2000’s.
619 continued to work but was transferred to First Midland Red where it worked a further 3 years. 619 was then withdrawn completely & went to a dealer in Manchester for re sale. OR Jones, Anglesey then acquired it and then it worked from their depot near Holyhead until early 2019 when it was withdrawn due to age and DDA.
619 had a regular driver called “Jack” so the bus is named after him Bws Bach Jac (Little Bus Jac). Since arriving in the group 619 has been steadily worked on including retro fitting a Hanover destination blind to replicate the Brightech unit it would have been new with. New seat cushions have been acquired and the seat frames/interior have been undergoing some attention. The bodywork all being well should be over hauled in late 2021 providing COVID restrictions permits us to do so.
